Concept

I wanted to 3D print a structure with hard materials like metal and see if we can maintain its flexibility. With 3D printing we are able to print any structure we have in our mind. Can we print a hard material and still maintain an interesting flexible movement? ”

Result

I wanted to make a placemat using a pattern that looks like a new kind of lace that is inspired by Andreas Bastien’s Mesostructures. The result is Lacemat – a placemat that looks like a new kind of lace. Printed with a strong metal-like material, it might look hard, but its structure is still flexible.”
